Overlap the Wraps: Apply the 12mm-teflon-tape with a slight tension to ensure a snug fit but avoid stretching the tape excessively. Overlap each wrap by about 50%, covering the threads completely. Usually, 3 to 5 wraps are sufficient for a standard threaded connection.
Avoid Excessive Wrapping: Avoid using too many wraps of PTFE tape, as excessive wrapping can lead to over-tightening, tape deformation, and difficulty in disassembly.
No Tape on the First Thread: Leave the first thread exposed, without any PTFE tape. This helps to prevent tape particles from entering the flow and ensures a clean connection.
Smooth Down the Edges: After applying the tape, smooth down the edges of the tape to ensure that there are no loose ends or rough edges that can interfere with the proper sealing.
Insert and Tighten: Insert the male threaded part into the female threaded part and tighten until snug. Use an appropriate wrench or tool to achieve the recommended torque, but avoid over-tightening.
